Soon, we will celebrate Thanksgiving and give thanks for all God’s graces and blessings. In Catarina, Guatemala, blessings abound as Sister Mary Lou Daoust works with health promoters and educators to help their neighbors deal with chronic illnesses and learn about safe and healthy living.
Sister Mary Lou tells the story of Cristobal, a ten-year old boy who came to her clinic with TB. After needed treatment, he made a complete recovery! Forty years later, he returned to see her and brought his family. His daughter thanked Sister Mary Lou for taking care of her father when he was a little boy.
