January Appeal 2025

In this Jubilee Year, Pope Francis calls us to be “Pilgrims of Hope.”  We, Maryknoll Sisters, are on a “hope pilgrimage” in all we do. In northern Tanzania, Sister Sue Rech works with Massai women to become more economically self-sufficient; Sister Elsie Monge brings hope to those marginalized and suffering injustice in Ecuador and in Chad Sisters Norma Pocasangre, Ngoc-Hà Pham and Maggie Mkenda bring hope through their various ministries.

Educators bring hope. Young students receive education at the BACHA school in Bangladesh begun by Sister Miriam Francis Perlewitz and in Brazil, Sister Isabel da Costa Araujo changes lives through literacy classes for both children and adults.  Hope becomes real for the people of rural Panama as Sister Joji Fenix, uses her medical training to improve their health while another medical doctor, Sister Mary Lou Daoust provides wholistic medical care in Guatemala.

Wherever these Sisters work, and whatever they do, your support enables their pilgrimage of hope to be visible.  As we begin a new year, please continue to support us as together we become “pilgrims of hope” for our world.
