48 MILLION PEOPLE around the world are facing emergency levels of hunger!
November 29, 2021 is Giving Tuesday and the Maryknoll Sisters need YOUR HELP to provide aid to those suffering from hunger and extreme poverty! What is Giving Tuesday? Giving Tuesday is the Tuesday after U.S. Thanksgiving in the United States. It is a movement to create an international day of giving at the beginning of the Christmas and holiday season.
Did you know this year there has been a global hunger crisis? From 2019 to 2022, the number of undernourished people grew by as many as 150 million, a crisis driven largely by conflict, climate change, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
For over 100 years, the Maryknoll Sisters have been providing meals to those in need in places such as:
Tanzania
Sister Celeste Derr, M.M. runs a Montessori pre-school for children who are orphans or from families living with HIV/AIDS that are struggling to get enough money together to give their family one meal to eat!
East Timor
Sister Susan Wanzagi, M.M. (blue dress) runs a Women’s Income Generating Group in East Timor to assist the poor and disadvantaged to start their own businesses such as growing crops to feed their families!
When you donate today, you can help the Maryknoll Sisters provide aid to children and families struggling with hunger!
Because of your generosity the Maryknoll Sisters are able to be a voice to the voiceless. We are deeply grateful to have you as our partner in mission, together we are saving lives.
