Human Trafficking

The Maryknoll Sisters have long been working to eliminate all forms of discrimination and violence against girls and women. At the present time, South Asia is facing the enormous problem of trafficking of women and children for sexual exploitation.

The Cambodian Women’s Crisis Center, offers vocational training to trafficked women as well as survivors of rape and domestic violence. Most trafficking survivors cannot return to their families due to the shame the experience brings, and must find a way to support themselves.

The program offered at the Crisis Center restores dignity and hope to the women while teaching them the valuable skills needed to find employment.
